Dan's Bio

Grew up in a small town in Kansas, lived in San Francisco, Berlin, and Miami. Have traveled extensively, 600k+ miles across 32+ countries, including ~month-long stints in Peru, China, India. I have a degree in Mathematics, six patents filed, a variety of professional certifications and awards, and a successful career in financial technology - helping to lead one business from 30 people to a 1200+ person public company worth $16B. I have a high aptitude for technology in general and am a decent developer. At the age of 14 I gained notoriety for creating and distributing sophisticated methods to cheat in the world's first massively popular online multiplayer game, Quake - eventually working with the game developers to close holes I discovered and was exploiting. I later flew to Seattle to interview with Microsoft to be a full-time game tester (but chose school instead). I was an advisor for multiple years at the world's largest hackathon in Las Vegas.

I was in a TV commercial in Singapore, have gone sky-diving, driven across both Europe and US with strangers, lived in a fraternity for a year, successfully petitioned the German government to be granted an incredibly rare residency visa, and was at one time the president of the San Francisco chapter of the largest DJ and event production crew in the Bay Area, where I often DJed and also ran a popular weekly radio show, and have a decent following on Soundcloud. I spent time in the Amazon rainforest participating in numerous shamanic sessions, used to regularly attend weekly spiritual awakening classes in which the leader would channel a discarnate entity, was at one time a very serious practitioner of lucid dreaming, astral projection (out-of-body experiences), and kundalini yoga. I once fasted for an entire week, ingesting only a single gallon of water total for the duration.

I love animals, and currently have a dog named Ollie who lives in Berlin. We're planning a week+ long wilderness hiking and camping trip around Matterhorn mountain in Switzerland/Italy in July 2024. I'm fanatic about my workout routine, with multi-hour weight-lifting and running sessions and have competed in a great variety of sports - I made it to state finals in track, was offered a university scholarship for football, played on traveling competitive baseball and soccer teams for many years, and won some medals in powerlifting.

I'm passionate about consciousness. I have a book published on the topic and run a non-profit that has a couple active projects around consciousness-oriented scientific research (and am currently scheduled to speak at a quantum physics conference in Turkey in May 2024); one related to quantum physics and another project developing an app for enabling people to have more direct access to non-ordinary states of consciousness. I'm also in the process of starting an Etsy store.

I'm grateful to have had a ton of life experiences in a lot of really unique places, including many of the world's largest music festivals (Burning Man x2, Boom Fest, Let It Roll x3, Tomorrowland, Ultra Fest x2, and more!).
